More New Businesses Set to Open in Downtown Covington

Renaissance Covington has announced the pending opening of a few new businesses set to open Downtown.

District 78 will open on June 1 at 33 West Pike Street. According to its Facebook page, the shop is "a shopping experience that blends clothing, art, vintage and more from all eras. Our goal is to create an environment that promotes creativity and personal style; fashion without boundaries."

Shrewdness of Apes will also be opening in the same building, on the other side at 32 West Seventh Street. According to its Facebook page, it's a gallery and boutique. You may have seen the artists behind the business at the Makers' Market at Christmastime.

Clockwork Productions, a recording studio, has opened on Madison Avenue next to Covington Chili. "We will take your project to the next level," the company boasts on its Facebook page.

The opening of these three new businesses follows today's report at The River City News that Buona Vita, the popular Dayton, KY Italian restaurant, will be opening a second location on Scott Boulevard in Downtown Covington.

Renaissance Covington also announced a pop-up bike shop at Roebling Point Books & Coffee scheduled for Saturday May 11. From the Facebook invitation about the event:

This Saturday May 11, from 9-12 Renaissance Covington, Roebling Point Books and Coffee, Queen City Bike and Reser Outfitters are teaming up to host a small bike festival on Court Street in Roebling Point. 

The event will include free maintenance checks from 9-10am. 

There will be information on bike routes and projects in the area. 

There will be a bike decorating booth, to have fun and express individuality with your bikes, for all ages!! 

You will receive a $5 voucher for the Covington Farmers Market if you come with your helmet, supported by Move. Breathe. Grow Covington. 

Natalie Gardner from the City of Covington will talk about the Licking River Greenway at 9:45 and take questions. 

At 10, we'll have an organized ride to check out the Licking River Greenway. 

There will be a facilitated urban ride at 11 to talk about techniques in urban riding. 

And for those who are interested, Jason Reser will lead a ride up to Devou at 12:00 where Chad Irey and others will be there to do a ribbon cutting on the trails & announce their next big project!

The next Food Truck Invasion is also scheduled for Thursday, May 9, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Covington Landing. See the Facebook event.
