Memorials Placed Outside Covington Bar for Bartender Who Died Last Week
A popular bartender at Bar Monet in Covington's Mainstrasse Village (as well as other bars over the years) died late last week at his home. Tributes in memoriam now adorn the stoop and windows of the corner bar.
Robert Cyrus Howard died at his home on Thursday at the age of 49.
Serenity Funeral Care in Covington is handling final arrangements. According to posts on Facebook, fundraisers at 701 Bar in Mainstrasse have garnered the necessary funds for the funeral. A post by Cincinnati's On Broadway Bar, which also hosted a fundraiser according to Facebook posts, indicates that a show scheduled to be performed at Bar Monet this past Saturday was canceled and rescheduled at the Cincinnati bar for this Friday and that performer Sharon Runyon has "a special evening planned paying special tribute to her great friend Robert Cyrus Howard."

Robert Cyrus, 49, of Covington died Thursday morning at his home. He was a bartender at several area bars over the years, known by so many and loved by all who met him. Survivors include his sisters Verna Gregory of Covington, Pat Marcus and Sherrie Wilson both of Cincinnati, Linda Shelton of Tateville, Kentucky and Wanda Gergory of Butte, Montana; brothers Roy Wilson of Cincinnati and John Wilson; several nieces and nephews; many dear friends in the Tri State area.Visitation will take place Wednesday May 29 2013 at Serenity Funeral Home in Covington, KY from 4pm - 8pm. Another Facebook post says that following the funeral The Loft Nightclub in Covington will host those mourning the loss of the popular bartender.
