NKY Animal Shelter Won't Euthanize Potential Pets for Just One Day
Dogs, cats, and other potential pets will be spared from being euthanized for Just One Day, a national event on Tuesday in which shelters across the country vow not to put down any savable animals, an effort that expects to keep alive more than 10,000 animals.
Boone County Animal Shelter is among those participating.
“This is a perfect opportunity to reach out and adopt an animal and support our shelter’s commitment to saving more lives,” Shelter Director Beckey Reiter said in a news release via WCPO. “We are asking the community to help make the shelter a bit emptier at the end of the day on June 11 and give all of our community’s homeless animals get a second chance at a loving home.”
The shelter is open on Tuesday from noon until 6 p.m. and will waive adoption fees for spayed or neutered dogs and cats (fees are typically $90-$120).
