Body Found in Ohio River Near Villa Hills Marina
UPDATE (Monday 2:49 p.m.): The Boone Co. Sheriff's Department has identified the body as 40-year old John Wilkinson of Warrenton, Virgina. He is believed to the man seen jumping from the Suspension Bridge in Covington on Thursday night.
A body was found floating in the Ohio River near the Villa Hills Marinia shortly after 3:05 p.m. when a call to 911 was made, according to WLWT.
The body was removed from the water by the Boone County Water Rescue team.
WXIX reports that the Kenton County Coroner was on the scene and that no identification of the victim was made yet.
Reports were made at The River City News Facebook page late last week that a man was spotted jumping from the Roebling Suspension Bridge which prompted a large police response to the scene but no body was recovered at that time.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports: Officials believe the remains to be that of an unidentified man who was seen jumping from the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge on Thursday night. Officials searched the river on Friday but didn’t locate a body.
