No Criminal Charges in Death of 2-Year Old Shot by 5-Year Old Brother
A Kentucky prosecutor announced Monday that there would be no criminal charges filed in the shooting death of a 2-year old girl who died from a wound suffered from a shot by her 5-year old brother.
Cumberland County Commonwealth's Attorney Jesse Stockton said that he "believes there is no probable cause that any crime occurred" in the April 30 shooting. Stockton says he will not present the case to a grand jury after reviewing a report from state police, according to The Associated Press.
The gun that the 5-year old was playing with is manufactured by a company called Crickett and is called "My First Rifle", a weapon specifically designed to be used by children. At the time of the shooting, the county coroner called it, "just one of those crazy accidents."
