Boone Co. Man Killed, Covington Man Suffers Life Threatening Injuries in Crash
A single vehicle crash late Thursday night in Verona killed one man and left another with life-threatening injuries. A 7-year old boy was also injured.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office reports that Christopher Peace, 29, was driving a 2012 Fiat 500 along the 14000 block of Walton-Verona Road (KY 16) near Stephenson Mill Road, when the vehicle left the roadway at a high rate of speed, flipped, and struck a tree. The car came to a rest upside down in a ditch.
Peace, of Verona, was pronounced dead at the scene. His 7-year old son, Travis, was air-lifted to University Hospital in Cincinnati with non-life-threatening injuries.
Another passenger, Jonathan Huston, 31, of Covington, was also air-lifted to University Hospital where is reported to be suffering from life-threatening injuries.
On Thursday, September 19, 2013 at approximately 10:00 p.m. a single vehicle traffic collision in the 14,000 block of Walton Verona Road (KY-16) in Verona, Kentucky caused the death of the driver and sent two passengers to area hospitals by air.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision. Speed and possibly alcohol involvement are suspected to be contributing factors, a news release said.
