All Clear After Suspicious Package Closes TANK Transit Center

Concerns about a suspicious package closed the TANK bus transit center and Kenton County Parking Garage in Downtown Covington on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the scene around 11:30 a.m. and remained there until the all-clear was issued at around 1:30 p.m.

The package? An apparent "homemade" radio with speakers in a bag.

The Cincinnati Bomb Squad was called in to investigate.

The package in question was said to be on the fourth floor.

Covington firefighters connected hoses to hydrants as a precaution.

Madison Avenue was shut down between Third Street and RiverCenter Boulevard.

TANK rerouted its buses to make pick-ups at the corners of Fourth Street and Scott Boulevard and Fourth & Russell Streets.

This story will be updated.
