Via KY Forward:
A Kentucky soldier was killed in Afghanistan this week.
The parents of Daniel Tyler Lee, 28, were notified early Wednesday that their son was killed on Tuesday, Jan. 14. Lee served in the U.S. Army and was a resident of Fort Wright.
“He lit up a room when he came in and he was always smiling,” said Daniel Patrick Lee, the soldier’s father. “He had such a positive outlook in life, was very strong and very dedicated to the U.S. Army.”
Lee was shot while on duty, but no further details were known.
He graduated from Dixie Heights High School in 2003.
According to reports, Lee was married and had a 6-month-old son. His wife and baby are reportedly living in Arizona near her family during Lee’s deployment.
Lee was reportedly a member of the Army Special Forces, known as the Green Berets.
The family, according to reports, expects there to be funeral services both in Fort Wright and at Dover Air Force Base.
