NKY Hates Heroin to Present Check to Droege House, Money Raised in Pennies
NKY Hates Heroin, a local organization committed to finding solutions for the region's heroin epidemic, will present a check to the Droege House in Dayton on Thursday.
The group raised $1,100, penny by penny.
In August, the blog "Raising 2 Tweens" explained the group's Pennies for Pickles idea:
I am asking you to consider doing Pennies for Pickle as well. Clean out a milk jug or old pickle jar and start collecting your pennies. Then take the jar to the Droege House or another Northern Kentucky treatment facility at the end of the year. And if you wish, let the facility know that the donation is in memory of Nicholas Specht as part of Pennies For Pickle.
The Droege House is a drug/treatment facility.
Volunteers will be at the facility Thursday evening in their NKY Hates Heroin shirts to present the check at 6:30 p.m.
