Eilerman Elected President of Northern Kentucky Area Planning Council
Covington City Commissioner Chuck Eilerman was elected president of the Northern Kentucky Area Planning Council on Thursday evening.
Eilerman was chosen over Ft. Mitchell Mayor Chris Weist by a vote of 12-6. Weist had served as president the previous year.
"I'm gratified by the support," Eilerman said. "There are a lot of tremendous things going on in Kenton County such as the new comprehensive plan coming to completion."
"I am honored to be selected and look forward to working with all the cities and the county on planning issues."
The Northern Kentucky Area Planning Council is made up of one elected official from each city and the county.
The Council is responsible for representing their jurisdictions on call matters before them, electing members to the Northern Kentucky Area Planning Commission, acting in a supervisory and advisory capacity with the Commission, reviewing and approving the organization's annual work program and budget, and contracting with accountants to audit the commission's financial records, according to the NKAPC website.
