Downtown Covington Apartment Building is Now Leasing

An old nineteenth century commercial building on Pike Street in Downtown Covington is just about completed as it gets a second life as a residential community.

Orleans Development, operating on this project as East Row Lofts, LLC, has turned the vacant warehouse into twelve modern loft-style apartments.

They are now being leased with tenants expected to begin moving in this month.

The project was announced in February 2012. Orleans also manages the neighboring Pulse Lofts.

Construction crews have also been bust with the redevelopment of the so-called Pike Street Triangle outside the Market Lofts at the corner of Pike & Eighth Streets. That effort will incorporate residential parking and an attractive streetscape.

The Catalytic Fund helped finance the project and hosted a ceremonial ribbon-cutting last July. The Market Lofts project is one of several new developments on Pike Street.

The apartments range in size from 750 to 1250 square feet and will rent at $750 to $975 per month. The twelve units are made up of studios, one bedrooms, and one bedrooms with a study.

They feature large, open floorplans, stainless steel appliances, washer-dryer hookups in each unit, and a secure building with keypad entry. Each unit is somewhat unique as many architectural features from the building were preserved.

There is a common, secure outdoor space in the rear of the building along Russell Street.

The new units are within easy walking distance to Downtown Covington and Mainstrasse Village.
