Holmes Holds Off Highlands, 63-52
The Holmes Bulldogs picked up their nineteenth win of the season in Ft. Thomas on Friday night with a 63-52 with over Highlands.
The Bluebirds trailed by only three at the end of the first quarter but Holmes built a ten-point halftime lead and maintained that distance for the remainder of the game.
Junior guard James Bolden led the Bulldogs with 18 points while Marcus Hill put in 12 and Armani Housley contributed 11.
Brendan Buten led Highlands with 12.
Holmes hit just two of seventeen three-point attempts but shot 65% elsewhere from the field and sunk 17 of 24 free throws to seal the victory.
The Bulldogs travel to face defending state champions Madison Central on Saturday, the team that knocked Holmes out of the Kentucky Sweet Sixteen last season.
