Paeth Withdraws from Covington Commission Race
The field in the Covington City Commission race dropped from sixteen to fifteen on Tuesday as candidate Greg Paeth withdrew.
"I filed to run just hours before the deadline because I thought that I might get fired up about another campaign once I was officially a candidate. However, that’s not the case," Paeth said. "I don’t have the same enthusiasm that I had a couple of years ago and Covington deserves city commissioners who are fully committed to devoting their time and energy to doing the best job that they can. For those reasons, I withdrew as a candidate at the Kenton County Clerk’s office earlier today."
Paeth ran unsuccessfully in 2012, finishing fifth in a race for four seats. He announced on the day of the filing deadline that he would give it another shot before withdrawing on Tuesday.
The deluxe field of fifteen candidates will run in a primary on May 20 in which eight candidates will advance to the November election where four will be elected to the commission.
