Fire at Covington Motorcycle Club Investigated as Arson
A fire early Saturday morning at a house where a motorcycle club hangs out is being investigated as an arson.
"We can't speculate at this time as to any motive other than that it is in an arson," Covington Police Chief Spike Jones told The River City News. "Police investigators were on the scene in short order."
The fire happened at around 2 a.m. Saturday morning at the Pleasant Street home of the Horsemen's clubhouse. Neighbors reported hearing an explosion and possible gunfire.
A witness spoke to The River City News on the condition of anonymity.
"I was there. Shots were fired at the house, making it into the house," the witness said. The witness believes the house was fire-bombed by a rival club. "Thank God no one was hurt."
