Cincy Sundaes Targets Big Ideas in Covington
Cincy Sundaes will host its second ice cream social from 3-5 p.m. on May 11 at Covington Arts on Seventh Street in Covington.
For $5, attendees can make a sundae with gelato from Dojo Gelato, listen to four presentations on innovative community ideas and vote on their favorite. The presentation with the most votes at the end of the evening will be awarded 100% of the money raised at the door. Additionally, The Big Idea Challenge of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation will match the financial contribution dollar for dollar.
At the first Cincy Sundaes on April 13, over 175 people heard four innovative ideas to make the Greater Cincinnati region more vibrant. $1,730 was given to the winning organization, Art on the Streets for their idea called ArtWalks.
Four Cincy Sundaes will remain in 2014 after the May 11 event. All events are from 3-5 p.m. and cost $5 at the door. The dates for the events are, July 27, August 24, October 19, and November 16. Event locations will rotate between Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and are available on the Cincy Sundaes website.
“It is important that we bring people together on both sides of the Ohio,” explains Cincy Sundae Co-Founder Kristine Frech, “We don’t want the river to be something that divides us. We know that individuals in both Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati are passionate about their community and want to engage in activities for regional improvement.”
People interested in applying to present at the May 11 event have through May 4 to apply. More information on applying can be found on the Cincy Sundae website.
