Studio Partners with Covington-based Magazine for Girls Technology & Fashion Workshop

Kiki magazine recently revealed a programming overview for KikiLIVE2.0, a STEM and fashion technology workshop for girls taking place on Saturday, July 12, at Cincinnati Country Day School.

KikiLIVE2.0 attendees will dive into a world of science with hands-on activities led by female role models in STEM and fashion fields. They will learn about circuitry using conductive thread to light up LEDs, explore properties of thermochromatic paint, familiarize themselves with innovative technologies in the world of fashion including 3D printing and reactive garments, conduct lab experiments to identify unknown textiles, and much more.

Programming partner and local art and sewing studio, Creativities, will be leading the sewing portion of the workshop to provide the attendees with an introduction to machine sewing.

Attendees will learn about circuitry using conductive thread to light up LEDs, explore properties of thermochromatic paint, familiarize themselves with innovative technologies in the world of fashion, interact with cutting-edge designs and reactive garments, conduct lab experiments to identify unknown textiles, learn about 3D printing and modeling software using LEAP Motion kinesthetic controllers, get an introduction to the world of coding with Modkit software, and much more.

KikiLIVE2.0 will conclude with a fashion-tech catwalk, where the attendees will be able to show off their take-home projects, and an ice-cream social and event expo where girls and their parents can gather information about opportunities for future STEM exploration.
