Behle Street Restaurant to Return in Ft. Mitchell
Behle Street Cafe is coming back in a new form.
Behle Street by Sheli will open soon on Grandview Drive in Ft. Mitchell, according to a post on its Facebook page by owner Shelli Truss-Karim.
The location is the site of the former Behle Street To Go. Behle Street closed in Covington last December after operating on RiverCenter Boulevard since 1994, despite assistance from the City of Covington in the form of a loan in 2011. Tommy Behle, the namesake and original proprietor, died of cancer in 2003.
"Shortly after we closed I was given the opportunity to reopen Behle Street," Truss-Karim wrote. "I wanted to have a smaller operation and focus on what made Behle Street a success, great customer service and outstanding food."
She said the space will have 25 to 30 seats inside with a large patio area. "My focus will be dine-in, carry-out, catering, and curbside pick-up," she wrote. A lot of previous staff members and menu items will be there, too, the post stated.
No exact date was given for the opening.
"This is a dream come true and my hard work, excellent teachers for the past twenty years has paid off," Truss-Karim said. "I have a lot to be thankful for and excited to see the continued success of Behle Street by Sheli."
