Next Up for Madlot: Goonies & Treasure Hunt

It has been transformed from a regular parking lot to an pop-up entertainment venue that has hosted live music and a retail festival. Next up for Covington's Madlot is its transformation into a cinema.

Gorilla Cinema, the Cincinnati-based group that puts on films combined with dining, drinking, and socializing, will bring its next event to Madlot. The event is scheduled for September 28.

The show: Goonies, the 1980s cult classic that featured young actors Josh Brolin, Sean Astin, and Corey Feldman, in a story by Steven Spielberg. Gorilla Cinema also promises a treasure hunt.

The event coincides with the annual Art Off Pike event, and visitors will receive a free movie ticket and treasure map that will lead them to "hidden gems" throughout Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Clues that are found can be cashed in for rewards at the movie event

Others can opt to enjoy the show without participating in the treasure hunt. Admission is free, but seats can be reserved for $6.23, and the VIP seating/food package goes for $42.95. For tickets, click here.

The gourmet food, craft cocktails, and live music by Heavy Hinges, will also make up part of the evening.

See the Facebook event for more information.
