Covington Parents Warned About Attempted Kidnapping Investigation
Parents of the young students at Ninth District Elementary School in Covington received a letter after some students reported an attempted kidnapping.
Principal Scott Shepard wrote that three students were walking to school on Wednesday morning and when they arrived, reported that a white man in a blue car had attempted to grab one of them. All of the students arrived safely.
"As you know, safety is a priority in our school," Shepard wrote to parents. Therefore, we are reminding our students about safety practices when walking to school. We are also suggesting that you talk with your children about traveling safely to and from school."
The letter included a list of safety tips and also encouraged students to walk in groups and parents to accompany younger students.
The Kenton County Sheriff's Office and Covington Police are investigating the claims.
