Kids #LoveTheCov: Magic of Art Festival Returns, Kids Read Classics at Carnegie, Free Museum Admission


The sixth annual Week Folk Magic of Art Festival is back and brings its partners from local arts, education, and family organizations together with children and families for an interactive afternoon of drama, dance, music, and visual arts.

The event will also include strolling performers, a petting zoo, live music, a photo booth, and face painting.

This year, the Wee Folk Magic of Art Festival moves from the Sixth Street Promenade to Goebel Park and runs from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The event is presented by Children, Inc., 4C for Children, and Stoney's Toy & Gift Shoppe, and is sponsored by John R. Green, Co., Piper's Cafe, Behringer-Crawford Museum, TGI Friday's, and Young Rembrandts.

Performances include Circus Mojo, Demi Mays (Growing Sound), Jennifer Ellis, The Rocket Flys, Live Love Clog, and Captain Jack Sparrow.

Participating vendors include COV 200, Five Seasons, B&B Riverboards, Hulafrog, Gateway Community & Technical College, the Kenton County Library, the Campbell County Library, Usborne Books, Brown Mackie College, Behringer-Crawford Museum, John R. Green, Co., and Stoney's Toy & Gift Shoppe.

The event is FREE and is also one of three free family events in Covington for “Kids #LOVETHECOV Day”; the others are free children’s admission to Behringer-Crawford Museum and DevouGrass Music & Arts Festival at the Devou Park Band Shell.

Classics for Kids Saturday @ The Carnegie is a day of free performances presented BY talented young people FOR young people (and their families!) We’re hoping to spark an interest in children from around the area to try a musical instrument or dance or sing…or to at least gain an appreciation of those who do. There will be performances from the Cincinnati Ballet’s Otto M. Budig Academy (10:15am)MYCincinnati (2:15pm), NKU Music Preparatory Department (11:30am), Cincinnati Shakespeare Company Groundlings (12:30pm) and My Nose Turns Red Youth Circus (1:15pm). There will also be hands-on art projects (thanks to the Cincinnati Art Museum and Contemporary Arts Center) from 11am – 3pm; information tables; chances for interaction between the performers and the kids; the chance to browse the exhibit “With and Without Challenges” and more.
