Cov Cath Wins 35th District Soccer Title, Beats Holy Cross 3-0
Covington Catholic defeated Holy Cross in the 35th District Boys Soccer Championship, 3-0, at Cov Cath on Friday.
All of the Colonel goals came in the first half as they controlled the ball on their side of the field for most of the day. The first goal was scored by Joe Schuh who scored inside the penalty box when the Holy Cross players hesitated because they thought a handball had occurred.
The next Cov Cath goal was scored by Jacob Litzler when the Holy Cross goalie appeared to come out too far and Colonels got past him.
Patrick Ballow scored the game's final goal with an easy score that put the game away in the first half. This is Cov Cath's 27th district championship in school history.
