Gateway Named Among Top 10 Schools for Military Veterans
Gateway Community and Technical College is among the top 10 career and technical colleges in the nation named ‘Best for Vets’ by Military Times. The ranking focuses on benefits coverage, support services and an in-depth analysis of a college’s efforts to provide veterans with an environment for success.
This is the second consecutive year that Gateway has been listed as a ‘Best for Vets’ college and is the only Kentucky community college to make the list.
“The ranking recognizes the support we give veterans and their families through Gateway VETS, which stands for Veterans Employment and Training Services,” said Gateway President/CEO Ed Hughes. “Gateway VETS is designed to help ease the transition from military service to college and community. We offer job placement services and career counseling as well as the educational credentials that are the pathway to a good job.”
Army Vet Daniel Ridley and Navy Vet Chris Courtney manage the program.
As with all Best for Vets rankings, Best for Vets: Career & Technical Colleges is an editorially independent news project that evaluates the many factors that make an organization a good fit for military veterans and families.
