Bulldogs No Match for Colonels as Cov Cath Rolls at Holmes

Struggling Holmes hosted rival Covington Catholic and the Bulldogs threatened earlier, taking their first drive all the way to the Colonel 2-yard line.

But that drive was called back on a holding penalty and Holmes struggled to move the ball again, turning it over on downs.

The Bulldogs (2-7) stayed scrappy early, intercepting the ball at their own 1-yard line during the Colonels (5-4) first drive, but Holmes ended up turning the ball over themselves, and giving up two points in a safety.

Then things got ugly for Holmes.

Cov Cath turned in four touchdowns by halftime, leading 30-0 at the break. Holmes was held to just 110 yards of offense while the Colonels put up 423.

Quarterback Adam Wagner was 14 for 23 for 221 yards and three touchdowns and one interception. Holmes's Desean Brumfield was 7 for 12 for 51 yards and an interception. Bulldog Andrew Arnold led the game with seven tackles.

FINAL: Covington Catholic 38, Holmes 0
