Thomas More Notches Another Victory, Now Averages Over 45 Points Per Game
There was very little drama at Thomas More on Saturday as the Saints hammered Grove City 64-7. The route was on from the get-go as star tailback Domonique Hayden returned from injury in a big way with 174 Yards and five touchdowns, four in the first half.
Hayden had missed time the last two weeks but looked as strong as ever as he first took an option play 17 yards untouched to the house.
Goose Cohorn broke the school record when he pulled in his 17th touchdown of his Thomas More career midway through the first quarter on a deep cross in zone coverage, giving the Saints a 14-0 lead.
Hayden then went on to score from 31, 54, and 1 yards before halftime was up. The Saints led 41-0 at the break and game had been decided. They even found an unconventional way to score when defensive lineman, Dustin Mitchell blocked a punt, scooped up the ball and ran it into the endzone.
Thomas More had 35 players record a tackle and put up over 600 yards of offense.
The Saints are now 6-2 on the season and are averaging over 45 points a game. They travel to Waynesburg next week.
