Taylor Mill Names New Fire Chief
Taylor Mill has named its new fire chief.
John Stager, a lieutenant within the department, will take over for Dennis Halpin, who retired after 35 years of service.
City Administrator Jill Bailey said that Stager was selected from "a prestigious group of applicants" that applied from "prominent regional agencies".
Stager joined the Taylor Mill Fire/EMS Department in 2010 as a full-time firefighter/paramedic and was promoted to lieutenant in 2012.He also has experience with fire departments in Green Hills (OH), Cincinnati Children's Medical Center, West Chester (OH), and the Madeia/Indian Hill (OH) Joint Fire District. Stager also had stints as a police officer in Covington and Cincinnati.
He has an associate degree in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati and is a nationally registered paramedic who holds numerous additional certifications related to that line of work. Stager and his wife, Jennifer, have three children.
"His experience and vision will be an asset to our community and to the outstanding team of men and women who provide exceptional fire and EMS services to our citizens," Bailey said. She added that Mayor Dan Bell, and City Commissioners Debby Kreimborg, Ed Kuehne, Dan Murray, and Roger Reis are excited for the new hire.
"I am honored to take over the role of Fire/EMS Chief of the Taylor Mill Fire/EMS Department and continue the excellent work that is the hallmart of the department and lead this outstanding team that provides our citizens with exceptional service," Stager said in a statement.
