Wow. Holmes's Girls Basketball Team Crushed a Cincinnati School

High School Basketball round-up from RCN's Bryan Burke: 

Girls

Holmes 105, Taft 17

In a blowout of monumental proportions, Holmes pulverized Taft (Cin.) scoring a school record 85 first half points. The Bulldogs forced Taft into an astonishing 52 turnovers and had five players score in double digits. Guard Jynea Tubbs led the way with 24 points, eight rebounds and seven assists on the night, while Hannah Tubbs kicked in 18. Tubbs also forced 10 turnovers. The Bulldogs are 4-0 to begin the year.

Simon Kenton 53, Grant County 46

Simon Kenton sophomore center Madison Meier scored a game high 14 points and had eight assists and three rebounds. Her teammate senior guard Maggi Bosse chipped in 13 points, six assists and three rebounds. The Pioneers are also perfect thus far with a 3-0 record.

Boys

Campbell County 79, Ludlow 47

Junior center Matt Wilson led the Camels with 19 points and seven rebounds as Campbell County had no problem with Ludlow on Thursdaynight. Guards Trent McGoveney and Deondre Jackson each chipped in 13 points. The Camels also had six different players sink a three-pointer in the game. Campbell County is off to a perfect 4-0 start on the season after winning their region a last year.

Kalib Mitchell finished as the top scorer for Ludlow with 11 points and five rebounds.

Newport 61, Lloyd 44

Newport junior guard Ethan Snapp proved once again to be the go-to scorer for the Wildcats as he led the game with 18 points and also had six rebounds and six assists. Snapp is widely regarded as one of the region's best scorers. Senior forward Dominick Joseph had 11 and senior guard Paul Price had 10 as the only other two Wildcats to reach double figures.

The emerging Lloyd sophomore forward Sterling Hamilton led the Juggernauts with 11 points and also had five rebounds. Hamilton came into the game averaging over 13 points a contest.
