One Newport on the Levee Restaurant Closes, Another to Expand Into Space
Newport on the Levee reclaimed a space occupied by one of its original restaurants, according to a news release from the entertainment destination's management team.
Claddagh Irish Pub's space was "reclaimed" on Saturday, "resulting in the closure of the restaurant", the statement said Tuesday.
The closure of Claddagh, however, was met with positive news, too. Bar Louie, another longtime tenant at the Levee, will be expanding from above into the lower space.
Beginning in early February, Bar Louie will start construction on a new 1,800 sq. ft. patio, with a view of the Ohio River and the downtown Cincinnati skyline. The patio will also feature an outside bar area. In addition to the patio, Bar Louie will also be adding a 1,000 sq. ft. private dining area, as well as renovate the venue’s main bar.
Bar Louie has also extended their lease at the Levee for another five years.
“We want to provide a quality experience to our guests and we hope that they will enjoy our new amenities,” said Andrew Gallo, General Manager, Bar Louie.
The venue will continue to operate as usual during the renovation and expansion process. Construction is scheduled to be completed by early April.
