Lady Bulldogs Stay Unbeaten, Rout Brossart 75-24
This team is good. The Holmes Lady Bulldogs pushed their record to 18-0 after beating Brossart 75-24 at home on Tuesday night.
While the Lady Bulldogs can certainly fill it up on the offensive end, the strength of the team has been its defense and last night was no exception. Holmes forced a total of 40 turnovers, came up with 19 steals, and gave up just six second half points to the visiting Mustangs in the 51-point win.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 5-0 lead and ended the first quarter on a 27-4 run to take a 32-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. After trading buckets with Brossart through much of the second quarter, Holmes closed out the half with a 10-0 run to push their lead to 58-18 at halftime. In the second half, the Lady Bulldogs outscored Brossart 17-6 en route to the 75-24 victory.
Holmes was led by senior guard Shania Parker who finished with 15 points and six steals.
Next up for the Lady Bulldogs is a game against inter-city rival Holy Cross (14-3).
