Commonwealth Theatre will continue its winning ways this summer with a Neil Simon favorite and a musical comedy charmer at Northern Kentucky University in June and July. Tickets go on sale Feb. 19 and include dinner-and-show.
The Sunshine Boys, June 3-21.
In this Neil Simon classic, the legendary comedy team of Lewis and Clark are no longer speaking to each other on or off the stage. But when these cranky comics are convinced to reunite for a TV special, who will get the last laugh?
Can the old boys get through their most famous sketch one last time without killing each other? A wise and hilarious comedy about showbiz, aging, and the true meaning of friendship.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, July 8-26.
An eclectic group of young competitors vie for the ultimate spelling championship and along the way we learn their hopes and the humorous stories of their lives.
As the “kids” navigate their way through increasingly complex words, the adults (and a few audience members) help and hinder their progress. This hilarious and warmhearted tale of overachievers' angst celebrates the triumph of doing the best you can.
Dinner/show is $35. Season package is $60. Show times: 8 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, 6:30 p.m.
Sunday in the Stauss Theatre. Dinner service begins 90 minutes before curtain in the Corbett Theatre lobby. Fine Arts Center, Northern Kentucky University, Highland Heights.
