Here It Is: Heavy Snow Arrives in Northern Kentucky
A winter storm WARNING remains in effect for our region through Tuesday at 5 a.m.
Heavy snow began to fall on the area in the overnight/early morning hours of Monday and did cause some short back-ups on the interstates. The Presidents Day holiday may have been a help in keeping motorists off the road since many schools, banks, and government offices are closed in observance.
All three Northern Kentucky counties and many of their cities have issued snow emergencies, urging residents to remove their cars from the streets.
Three to seven inches of snow are possible during the day with another one to three inches tonight, the National Weather Service said Monday.
The high temperature will only climb to 17.
