This is the New Degree Offered at Thomas More College
A new degree will be offered at Thomas More College beginning in the fall of 2015.
The Bachelor of Arts in Laws is a degree program that offers a foundation in both legal theory and practice. The course of study introduces the student to a range of legal topics and prepares students not only for an advance level of study, such as law school, but also for professional opportunities in a variety of organizations including regulatory agencies, small businesses, public offices, or non-profit organizations.
Each student in this program will also select and earn an associate degree in a field of study that best meets the student's interests.
"Students pursuing this degree will engage in a comprehensive study of the law and will be uniquely positioned to either advance their career in a broad cross section of professional fields or be an attractive candidate to any law school," said Bob Arnold, a business professor at Thomas More College since 1994.
According to the Bureau of Labor & Statistics, current research indicates that many organizations are showing a high demand for degrees that reflect abilities to conduct legal work in a plethora of business and institutional settings.
In the 2014-2015 academic year, Thomas More College added an Athletic Training major and Marine Biology track, in addition to several other co-curricular and extra-curricular initiatives.
