St. Elizabeth Heart Health Program Begins This Month
Community members are invited to improve their cardiac age through the Take Time for Your Heart program, offered by the St. Elizabeth Heart & Vascular Institute. Available during the day or in the evening, the classes are designed to help participants make positive lifestyle changes to improve their heart health. The evening class starts on Tuesday, March 31 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Edgewood, and the morning class begins on Wednesday, April 1 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Florence.
Participants will meet weekly for ten weeks to talk about heart health with clinical experts. Initially, they will identify their risk factors through a cardiac age assessment. After the assessment, participants will meet every week to learn lifestyle changes to improve their cardiac age. At the end of the program, participants will complete an assessment to measure their progress.
In addition to expert advice from a registered nurse, a pharmacist, a dietician, an exercise physiologist and a counselor, each participant will receive a copy of Mayo Clinic Healthy Heart for Life!
