Covington Police Investigate Weekend Shooting, Double Stabbing

A double stabbing in Latonia and an exchange of gunfire downtown kept Covington Police busy over the weekend and they are still looking for suspects.

Just before midnight Saturday, officers were dispatched to 160 Ashland Drive in Latonia Terrace after receiving a report that multiple individuals were suffering from stab wounds. Upon arrival, officers found Craig Estill, 21, with a stab wound to the back and Cameron Turney, 20, with a stab wound to the abdomen. Both were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

No one was arrested and the investigation is ongoing.

A few hours later, just past 3 a.m. on Sunday, an exchange of gunfire took place around 4th & Bakewell Streets. That's where witnesses saw occupants of a grey sedan and a red SUV exit their vehicles and shoot at each other.

Two individuals walking nearby at the Gold Star Chili drive-thru said that they had to dive to the ground amid the gunfire. A window at the restaurant was struck by a bullet and destroyed.

The suspects fled the scene and are still being sought by Covington Police. A bullet and shell casings were recovered from the scene.
