Braxton Booming: New Brewer, Fermenters Being Added
Though Braxton Brewing Company opened its doors to the public only recently, its production and early success have far exceeded the founders' expectations.
The company announced on Tuesday two 80-barrel fermenters will be added, more than doubling the Covington brewery's production capacity. Veteran brewer Adam Rauckhorst will also be brought on as Braxton's fourth brewer. Rauckhorst was previously with the Moerlein Lager House after nine years at Procter & Gamble.
“The Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati beer-drinking community has far exceeded our expectations! We have so many people to thank -- from the bars and restaurants putting us on tap, to the customers purchasing our unique beers and visiting us at our taproom. We can’t wait to expand our offerings, as well as the number of locations where they can be enjoyed,” said Jake Rouse, Braxton’s Co-founder and CEO. “With the addition of new tanks, the brewing team will also be expanding. We are fortunate and pleased to announce that Adam Rauckhorst is joining our team. There is no one as skilled and or as passionate about our story as Adam.”
Racukhorst is a lifelong Northern Kentuckian, having grown up in Bellevue and now residing in Ft. Thomas. Adam holds a B.S. in chemical technology from the University of Cincinnati and spent 9 years at P&G as a senior researcher before deciding to pursue his dream of brewing professionally in early 2013. It was there that he met his mentor and friend Richard Dubé, now of Braxton. Rauckhorst has continued to build his brewing skills over the past 2+ years, becoming proficient in all areas of brewpub production and utilizing his unique knowledge of analytical chemistry in order to improve consistency of product.
“Adam is a wonderful addition to our team. I am very happy that we will reconnect on a professional level,” said Braxton Brewing Company Brewmaster Richard Dubé. “Not only is Adam a great brewer who is always eager to learn, but he is also a very analytical mind that will further ensure our dedication to the utmost quality.”
The company will once again partner with Quality Tank Solutions, located in Wisconsin, for this expansion.
“By adding the additional tanks, the brewing team will be able to work more closely on providing new releases while ensuring we stay up to speed with our current brands.” Said Evan Rouse, Co-founder and Head Brewer. “We can’t wait for you to see the styles we bring to life in the remainder of the year, and meet our newest team member!”
Stangnaro Distributing will continue to partner with Braxton Brewing Company to deliver the additional product to market. The focus will continue to be centered around Northern Kentucky draught accounts.
“The entire group at Braxton has really done an amazing job throughout the start-up and launch of the brewery,” said Mike Stagnaro, CEO of Stagnaro Distributing. “This is another step that allows the team to expand upon their portfolio and production while continuing their meticulous attention to detail and product quality.”
