Teacher & Principal for 64 Years in NKY Catholic Schools, Dies at 96
A longtime educator in Northern Kentucky Catholic schools has passed away.
Sister Clarita Annekan, 96, died Tuesday at around 5:15 p.m., according to a Facebook post by the Benedictine Sisters of St. Walburg Monastery of Covington.
She taught high school school classes and was a principal from 1941 to 2005. Annekan served at St. Henry High School, Holy Cross High School, and Villa Madonna Academy.
She was a beloved high school Latin and language teacher, the Benedictine Sisters said.
Annekan had two biological sisters who were also nuns and who preceded her in death, Srs. Gemma and Juanita.
Another blood sister, Sister Xavier Annekan is the last Annekan sister at St. Walburg Monastery.
