9/11 Survivor to Speak at Local Elementary School
As the nation takes time Friday to remember the attack on the World Trade Center 14 years ago, a 9/11 survivor will be speaking to students at Latonia Elementary School.
Jim Kronicz will share his experiences with students in Bob Runyan’s fifth grade class from 10:15 -11:15 a.m. and from 12:50 - 1:50 p.m. on Friday, September 11. Kronicz, who now lives in the Greater Cincinnati area, was working inside the World Trade Center Tower Two on the 62nd floor when the tragedy occurred.
“I usually teach using primary and secondary resources,’’ said Mr. Runyan, a social studies teacher at the elementary school. “He is a great primary source for what happened on 9/11. We are now dealing with a generation born after 9/11 so it’s important to teach them the events of that day.’’
Latonia Elementary is at 39th and Huntington Avenue in Covington.
