Talk Like a Pirate this Weekend in Ludlow (& for a Good Cause!)
It only rolls around once a year, and this year you can roll on the Ohio like a river pirate!
Or, at least close to the river.
Ludlow businesses are joining together on Saturday, September 19 for Ludlow's Pirate Day, which also happens to fall on the annual international Talk Like A Pirate Day.
The businesses are also raising money for the Barth Syndrome Foundation.
Here's the message from the organizers:
Avast, me hearties! Celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day in Ludlow! Test ye swashbucklin' skills to become a certified Ludlow River Pirate. Be ye Cap’n or Scallywag? Pass treacherous trials includin’ sword skills, rum barrel rollin’ and walkin’ the plank to receive ye official city certificate and pirate ranking. Grog, featuring Second Sight Rum, will be sold to benefit the Barth Syndrome Foundation. Costumes be encouraged. This event be for all ages. Come out and have ye some pirate fun! ARR!
The NKY Fencing Academy, Wynners Cup Cafe, and Second Sights Spirits (all at 301 Elm Street) are welcoming pirate revelry. The Fencing Academy is also hosting a big tournament, Wynners Cup is donating 10% of its sales to the Barth Syndrome Foundation, and Second Sight will be serving that grog!
