A Chance to See Pluto Like You Never Have Before
Thomas More College will present “Pluto Like You’ve Never Seen it Before,” a discussion and night sky viewing on Saturday, October 24 at 7:00 pm.
The New Horizons spacecraft made its closest approach to Pluto and its moons in July. As data slowly makes its way back to Earth, this remote world is proving to be a mysterious and beautiful place. Join us as we discuss the latest discoveries and imagery from Pluto and how the New Horizons results will be rewriting textbooks for years to come.
Weather permitting, join us after the talk for a viewing of the moon, stars, and more at The BB&T Observatory. Thomas More College faculty and students will be available to help the public view the night sky through a telescope.
This talk is intended for a general audience. All ages are welcome. The event is free and open to the public.
