Free Program Offers Support for Those Affected by Diabetes
The Northern Kentucky Diabetes Coalition, along with the Boone County Public Library, Campbell County Public Library and Kenton County Public Library, are sponsoring a free program to help people with diabetes and their family members work as a team to more effectively manage the disease.
Three sessions are planned:
- 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Nov. 20, at the Boone County Public Library, 1786 Burlington Pike, Burlington, Ky. A light lunch will be served. To register, call 859-342-2665, then press option #1
- 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Kenton County Public Library, 401 Kenton Lands Road, Erlanger, Ky. A light dinner will be served. To register, call 859-962-4000
- 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Campbell County Public Library, 901 E. 6th St., Newport, Ky. A light dinner will be served. To register, call 859-572-5035
In this motivational program, presenter Reggie Bishop from Maryland will share his personal diabetes story and explain why it is important to control blood sugar. He will provide background information on insulin, review common myths and stress the importance of communicating with your health care team.
