TMC to Host 'Shantytown Experience' on November 17

Thomas More College will host a “Shantytown Experience” on its campus on Tuesday, November 17 beginning at 8:00 p.m.

The event will be held in front of the Saints Center on TMC’s campus at 333 Thomas More Parkway in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. Students will experience conditions similar to what homeless people in our area experience daily by sleeping in cardboard “shanties.” Also during the experience, students will hear local organizations on the topics of hunger and homelessness and participate in reflection activities. The event, sponsored by the Student Activities Board, Diversity and Inclusion Club, and Campus Ministry is aimed at bringing awareness to homelessness and poverty in the Greater Cincinnati area.

TMC is accepting donations during the event to support Henry Hosea House and Freestore Foodbank.

“We are very excited to be partnering with these two great organizations and hope to make this a tradition on campus for years to come.” said Leann Morgan, president of TMC’s Student Activities Board.
