WWII Vet to Speak at Kenton Co. Rotary Club
World War II Veteran, Douglas Bickel of Ft. Thomas will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Kenton County’s luncheon meeting on Thursday, January 14.
Bickel enlisted in the Navy Reserve in May, 1942 and became certified as a Pharmacist Mate who could perform combat surgery. He participated in the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944 and returned to Normandy Beach in October of 2015 for a visit.
“The Rotary Club of Kenton County is honored to have Mr. Bickel as our guest speaker,” stated President Carol Margrave. “Our club members are looking forward to hearing about his recent trip to Normandy Beach.”
The luncheon will begin at noon at the Colonial Cottage Inn in Erlanger. There will be limited seating by reservation only.
