$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold in Walton, $50,000 Winner Sold in Florence
The record-breaking $1.6 billion Powerball drawing on Wednesday night found jackpot winners in at least three states: California, Florida, and Tennessee.
But Kentucky - and Northern Kentucky in particular - had its share of luck, too.
According to Kentucky Lottery officials, a ticket worth $1 million was sold in Walton. That means someone's lucky ticket matched all five white balls but missed the Powerball.
Meanwhile, in Florence, a $50,000 winner was sold, meaning someone matched four white balls and the Powerball.
To win the big jackpot, a ticket needed to match all five white balls and the Powerball.
Across Kentucky, two more $1 million winners were sold in Hazard and Paducah, and $50,000 winners were found in Mt. Sterling, Harrodsburg, Benton, and Hazard.
