TMC's Women's Basketball Team Wins 50th Straight Game
With the Thomas More College women’s basketball team’s victory over Grove City on Wednesday, the team extended their winning streak to 50 games.
The Saints now boast the longest winning streak in Greater Cincinnati college basketball history. For perspective, the second-longest streak is held by the University of Cincinnati men’s basketball team, which won 37 straight games in 1962-1963. The Saints’ impressive stats do not stop there. They have an 81-1 record over the last three seasons and are also statistical first in the nation in field goal percentage (48.1), scoring margin (+38.1), and assists/turnover ratio (1.96). They are also second in the nation in scoring offense (91.8) and turnover margin (+11.41).
TMC will celebrate this extraordinary achievement on Saturday, January 30 at 1 p.m. when the defending Division III National Champion Saints take on Westminster College. The community is invited to join in the festivities which include face painting, $50 gift card giveaways, and free t-shirts to commemorate the winning streak. Congratulation to the Saints on this remarkable achievement.
