John Nolan Auto Service Now Open in Newport
For decades, John Nolan has been a household name for local auto buyers.
You know the song: "A good deal better... at John Nolan Ford!"
Now the company focuses exclusively on servicing cars -- but still has the same great deals.
Last week, Newport welcomed John Nolan Auto Service Center to its newest location at 15 East Fourth Street. Partner and manager Dan Toney discovered the location, which is tucked away across the street from the World Peace Bell, a stone's throw from Newport on the Levee.
"I was handing out flyers for Harley-Davidson," said Toney, referring to another venture of Rob Nolan, who runs the company. "I said, Robert, you have got to see this place. I bugged him for a week or two to get over here.
"He took one look and he loved it."
Toney, who lives in Bellevue, is aware of how fast the Northern Kentucky River Cities are growing, and thought there would be a good opportunity to open a new John Nolan location in downtown Newport. "The city has been great. I had never opened a business before but it was very smooth," Toney said.
Now, the new service center can repair or improve all makes and models with new state of the art equipment.
Rob Nolan, who lives in Villa Hills, said that he loves the location, too. He expects that most of his business will come from within three to five miles of the shop, including downtown Cincinnati where workers can be dropped off by John Nolan staff after bringing their car in to the shop in the morning. "Dan drives the shuttle in the morning," Nolan said.
Nolan also likes the historic building that is now home to the location and hopes to partner with a nearby car wash to expand the services offered.
At its opening reception last week, WDJO (AM 1480) provided classic oldies for the crowd. Nolan is also an owner of the radio station, and now hopes to rock and roll on the southside of the Ohio River with a brand new John Nolan Auto Service location.
Be sure to follow the shop on Facebook.
