Gateway Professor Honored with Make a Different Award

Dr. Gregory Stewart, a faculty members in the Human Services program at Gateway Community & Technical College, received the Make a Different Award from the English Language Learning Foundation (ELLF) on February 25 at the foundation's 8th Annual Recognition Breakfast at NKU.

ELLF provides programs for more than 2,000 children and adults in Greater Cincinnati. Programs are directed to help English language learners become successful in their academic lives while fostering their cultural identities. Stewart served on The ELLF Board from incorporation in 2006 until 2012.

Stewart is active in the community and was elected 2014-16 National Association of Social Workers, Ohio Chapter, Region 6 Director, representing over 700 social workers in 11 counties in southwest Ohio.

Since November 2012, he has served as the founding Program Coordinator and faculty for the Human Services program at Gateway Community & Technical College in Covington.

Stewart is a licensed social worker in the State of Ohio. He earned a bachelors and master’s degree in social work from the University of Cincinnati, master’s of science degree in counseling from Miami University, and PhD in educational leadership from Ohio University.
