Attorney General Beshear to Visit NKY Children’s Advocacy Center
Attorney General Andy Beshear, the Kentucky Association of Children’s Advocacy Centers (KACAC), Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center (NKYCAC), and Chuy’s Mexican Food will be “Planting Pinwheels” to honor the children in Northern Kentucky on Friday, April 15 at 1:15 pm at the Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center in Florence.
The pinwheel symbol is used to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect prevention. It was chosen to represent hope and promise, believing every child deserves to be raised in a healthy, safe and nurturing environment. It is our hope this image can positively help impact the way the public views both children, as well as the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
“I am proud of the community support shown throughout Northern Kentucky for child abuse prevention," said General Beshear. “We must continue efforts to raise awareness and impart that the safety of every child in every community is the responsibility of every Kentuckian. It is our moral and legal duty to report abuse.”
Chuy’s Mexican Food on Houston Road, will serve a special “thank you” luncheon to local law enforcement officials, social workers, prosecutors and victim advocates and community partners thanking them for the hard work and dedication they provide to the children in the Northern Kentucky community. The luncheon will be held at the Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center.
“Without these heroes, we could not properly serve our communities in their struggles with helping the children who are abused,” said Executive Director of NKYCAC, Vickie Henderson.
