Gateway College Hosts Signing Day for Manufacturing Students
The Northern Kentucky Chapter of the Kentucky Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME), in conjunction with Northern Kentucky Tri-ED and Gateway Community and Technical College, hosted its annual “Signing Day” for the Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program.
A total of 24 students have been matched with various local manufacturing companies, including Bosh Automotive Steering, HAHN Automation, Kraus Maffei, Linamar, L’Oreal, Mubea, Nurcor, Perfetti Van Melle, Safran Messier-Bugatti Dowty, Stober Drives and Zotefoams, to learn about the industry and what it’s like to work on the manufacturing floor. The program, similar to a work/study program, develops productive work behaviors that provide excellent self-development skills that are very attractive to employers.
Much like a high school athlete’s “Signing Day” of committing to his/her college of choice, these local scholars took part in a commemorative signing-on for the FAME program with their soon-to-be employer.
