Free Community Drawing Event Coming to Linden Grove Cemetery
Little free libraries have been popping up around cities and neighborhoods for the past several years. Neighbors share books they’ve read, take books they want to read, and return them to a central location. Covington resident Annie Brown saw these libraries and was inspired to take a different approach – a Little Free Art Studio
Through a Creative Community Grant from The Center for Great Neighborhoods (The Center), Brown built a Little Free Art studio in Linden Grove Cemetery. The studio is stocked with art supplies for resident artists and visitors to create art. Artists can either take their art or leave it for someone else to find.
To celebrate the Little Free Art Studio, Brown and The Center are hosting Drawing Night on Thursday, June 30 from 6:00-8:00pm. The community is invited to visit the Little Free Art Studio at Linden Grove Cemetery for an after hours drawing night. There will be some drawing utensils (visitors are encouraged to bring some, too), light refreshments, tips from artists, and drawing games.
This event is family-friendly, free, and open to the public.
