Enjoy Art, Music, and More at Boone Co. Heritage Day and Chalkfest
The Historic Burlington Business Association and Boone County Historical Society will host Boone County Heritage Day and Chalkfest in downtown Burlington on Saturday, July 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Visitors can watch art as it is being created while artists draw chalk masterpieces on Burlington’s sidewalks. Additionally, kids are invited to create their own work of chalk art. The event also features a large assortment of vintage cars, food from local restaurants and vendors, and music by well-known DJs, TC and Rockin’ Renee.
Visitors are also invited to stop by the Boone County Historical Society Museum, located in the old County Court Clerk’s Office on Gallatin Street, to see a display of antique farm equipment.
"This is the seventh year that local businesses have worked together to hold a Chalkfest in Burlington," said Jackie Steele, president of Historic Burlington Business Association. "We are continuing to partner with Boone County Historical Society to combine their Heritage event with our Chalkfest. Add some vintage cars and a DJ to the mix, and you end up with a really fun, family event! It gets bigger and better every year.
"We hope families will come to the event and visit some Burlington businesses while they are here."
