Freedom's Godbold Named Frontier League Player of the Week

Florence Freedom outfielder Andrew Godbold was named Frontier League Player of the Week.
The Monday announcement marks Godbold's first time winning the honor.
Florence's Jeremy Gooding and Jordan Kraus each earned Pitcher of the Week awards earlier this season, giving the Freedom a total of three weekly awards.
Godbold has had 3 multi-hit games in his last 4 outings.
For the week, Godbold hit an impressive .450 (9 for 20) with 3 runs scored, 3 RBI,  2 doubles, and a home run.
This season has been kind to Godbold. He's batting .304, has 16 stolen bases, and leads the club with extra-base hits - 26 (17 doubles and 9 home runs).
Godbold and the Freedom stay home all week, beginning with a three-game set against the Schaumburg Boomers (30 - 37) in a Wednesday doubleheader and on Thursday.  Florence then welcome the Lake Erie Crushers (29 - 36) to UC Health Stadium for a weekend series August 5-7.
Florence sits at the bottom of the league's west division with 28 wins and 38 losses, and 16.5 games behind first place.
